XP professional booting problem

have an XPPro box that seems to have a recurring issue,..will run EXCELLENT for months,..then will go into an endless reboot loop for no apparent reason. NO software or hardware has been added to the machine(besides the automatic updates from Microsoft)and is NOT set to automatically reboot in the advance properties….any ideas?
