XP Upgrade

I have used the XP Pro SP2 upgrade on a Windows 2000 workstation. After the upgrade the computer now crashes before XP can fully boot up. It crashes at different stages in the boot process. Sometimes it crashes as soon as I try to log on and sometimes just before the icons all come up. Any ideas??
