Panasonic’s 65-inch 1080p TV is making an appearance at DisplaySearch’s HDTV: The Future of Television conference in Beverly Hills, Calif. The model on display is currently for sale only in Japan. The U.S. version is expected to be available soon for just under $10,000.
Panasonic’s Blu-ray player, the DMP-BD10, is available for gawking at the conference’s exhibition hall inside the Beverly Hilton. The unit goes on sale in September for $1,299.
This 42-inch Panasonic PX600 Plasma HDTV, on display at the DisplaySearch conference, is already available in the U.S. for $2,499.
SyntaxBrillian launched its new Olevia 5-series LCD TVs at the conference. The 532H, shown here, has a 32-inch screen, a combination ATSC and NTSC tuner, and video resolution up to 1080i. The HDTV is available now for $999.
The 42-inch version of SyntaxBrillian’s Olevia 5-series HDTV, the 542i, is on retail shelves now for $1,899.
SyntaxBrillian’s 65-inch LCoS Rear-Projection TV makes a cameo appearance at the DisplaySearch conference, though it won’t be for sale until late 2006 or early 2007. LCoS, or liquid crystal on silicon, is a micro-display technology that uses reflection off of liquid crystals to create an image in rear- and front-projection displays. SyntaxBrillian has not yet announced pricing on this model.
