Accessing MSN Messenger from a web page

Has anyone tried to integrate MSN Messenger with a Cold Fusion web page? We are getting ready to roll-out MSN Messenger internally and would like to link it to our Intranet phone directory. So when you search for an individual in the Intranet phone directory, your search would return in addition to their land line phone number, whether or not the individual was logged onto to MSN Messenger.
