AD GPO and Active Desktop

by andrew.pagano . Updated 19 years, 6 months ago

I have a computer lab that was previously all stand alone PCs. Now that I have access to AD I have decided to control the lab via GPOs instead – work smarter not harder right:) Anyway, one of the things I have done is to set up active desktop and have it pointing to a specific bitmap on the machines. This is a fine and lovely way to prevent anyone from permenantly changing the desktop, however, it also causes a problem with regards to the programs shortcut icons on the desktop. The background image is a green color, but the background color of the icons is blue. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might get them to have a transparent background or to assume the color of the bitmap desktop background? Any thoughts on this matter would be lovely – Thanks in advance 🙂
