Adobe Bookmarks or Table of Contents

Is there any way in the newer versions of Adobe (versions 5 & 6) to save the bookmarks (or display a table of contents) so that they display every time that you open a particular pdf file? I can do it with version 4 on a MAC, but I can’t for the newer versions on the PC and/or MAC. Can someone please help?
