Another Motorola SM56 problem

I had a motorola sm56, and I couldn’t find the appropriate driver for windows XP.
I went out and bought another one, under the name “samsync”. it turned out to be motorola sm56. that’s not the case.

It reaches the “verifying username and password” phase, then waits “longer than it’s supposed to be” then disconnects and gives me the error that the remote computer didn’t respond in a timely manner.

Any help would be appreciated.

ps: I have windows SP2, the other modem worked *gracefully* on SP1 and stopped functioning when I upgraded.
