approach will not print multiple copys

When I am working with a record, and would like to print multiple copies, I select ‘Print’, and increase the number of copies to 5, and click the print button. Only a single copy prints. I have tried different printers, but it made no difference. The event log on the computer shows no errors, only that a document was printed. The os is windows xp. Any suggestions would be great….
