Avoiding Checking Sevice Pack Number During Installation

by ronschmidt . Updated 19 years, 12 months ago

I am trying to install a software product that will run under XP when the OS is upgraded from Win2000 but the software will not install on a
new machine that came in with XP as the original OS. The installation of the software halts with an error of “You must install Windows Service Pack #3 before continuing”. Is there a way to prevent the installation from checking for a service pack level?. The sofware runs fine under XP but I cannot install it on any machines that were not upgraded from WIN2000.
Thank you very much for your help.
