Baan IV (SSA ERPln) orientation

In my future job, I will be responsible for the maintenance and evolutions of ERP BaanIV (aka SSA ERPln) in a mid-sized production company. I know that BaanIV is a very solid platform containing wide functionalities.

But, I also know that the supplier of Baan (SSA Global) has been taken over by Infor, an investment company. Also, the competition of SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, etc… is very tough. These points raise questions about continuity of the product Baan on the longer term.

Does anyone recognize this fear? What criteria do you take in mind? What actions do/will you take? What?s your timing? ?
