backup office registration

I read somewhere that there is a technique to backup the office registrations in the registry , prior to my reformatting my hard disc (which has some major corruptions etc )
Thatw ay then I can re-install office and restore with my previously accepted registration approvals
Im sure it came as a TechRepublic mailer —- any body got any advice?
