Best way to Dual Boot XP and Longhorn

I already have a partition with XP SP2 on it and would like to try out windows longhorn. Is it just a simple matter of resizing the partition and installing longhorn on the new partition? What would be the best plan of action? i’ve had problems dual-booting XP and 2003. So any advice or Tips would be appreciated
