okay so I’ve setup these resource mailboxes that take in various information for employees to use. What the higher ups are looking for is monitoring of these accounts as they are very important to our business. I have tools in place to monitor the mailbox itself and verify that all my system are running fine. But they are looking for me. They want to monitor the incoming mail, in particular the frequency. I’m not so much interested in what is coming from where, more so in that mail is still coming in.
For instance, if we receive an average of a piece of mail every two minutes could I set up some app to monitor the account and if the mailbox reaches 30 minutes with no inbound mail then a notification is sent out. It sounds overly complicated, I know, but this is what they want.
It would be even better if we could analyze the incoming mail per sender. IE Sender A averages mail every 2 minutes all day, Sender B averages mail every 10 minutes all day, Sender C sends on average once an hour between 9-5. Then setup test filters per the demands of the specific sender.
I know that asking a lot and am doubtful if such a monitoring software exists, but I figured if anyone would know about it, they would be on this board. 🙂
