Can’t follow hyperlink from email client

I am running Win. XP w/office XP. I use Outollk/Outlook Express and Incredimail for my email clients. When I try to click on a hyperlink in an email (such as Anchordesk or TechRepublic) IE opens but the page remains totally blank and there is no address in the address bar. I’m sure there is some easy fix that I just haven’t thought of…would appreciate any help.
