I have a user, running NT4.0 sp5, Outlook 98 and the back end is Exchange 5.5.
Symptom is that from SOME Personal folders, emails with attachments cannot be forwarded.
Message received: “Could not open one or more
attachments”
When the email is moved back to the Inbox on the Exchange server there is no problem.
When the email is moved to a new .pst file and a new folder we have the same problem.
I have recreated the users profile in Outlook.
I have moved the email back tothe inbox, recreated the profile, made a new .pst file with nothing else in it and when I move this msg to the new .pst, we still cannot forward it.
When the user forwards the email to me, I can do anything I want and it still forwards with the attachment.
If I send it back to the user he has the same problems.
It doesn’t seem to happen to all of the folders in his .pst, but once a msg is in the problem folder it starts exhibiting the odd behavior.
If he detaches the attachment, usually an excel spreadsheet and attaches it to a new msg, no problem.
Ideas?…..
get a new user?….
