Contacts folder Empty in Adddress Books

I exported contacts, inbox, deleted items, etc. all into their own .PST file as I was preparing to reinstall the OS on a users computer. After all was up and running, the “Contacts” in the address book area (Post office address, outlook address book, Contacts and the .PAB are all listed as per the user)But the contacts are empty! The Contacts folder has the contacts in it but I can not get them to show up in the Contacts under “address books”. If I create another Contacts, I then have 2 contacts folders in that area and can not delete them!! How do I get the contacts to show in this file (properties are already set to show folder as an email address book)and how do I delete the other one (only 1 contacts folder in the personal folders but 2 in address book area now)?
