Very grateful if anyone can help with this. When I burn a CD from LPs and then put the CD in a Dell running Windows XP Pro, all the files appear as .wma files. Nero says it can’t recognize them or convert them. IN other words, I can’t take a .wma file and put it in a Nero compilation to burn it without further steps: I have to open CoolEdit Pro and convert them one at a time to .mp3 (Nero says it doesn’t recognize the file type, and CoolEdit says the same thing when I try batch convert.) Doing them one at a time finally gets it done and then I can burn a CD with the resultant .mp3 files.
Is there ANY other way to handle these files without so much hand-holding and trouble? My Mac handles this chore with almost no problem. To say that I loathe Mr. Gates and Windows would be entirely gartuitous…having said that, both are loathsome. Despite that beef, I’m stuck using Windows and would like to find some way to handle these files without having to do what amounts to two conversions because Nero and CoolEdit don’t seem to read .wma files.
