Delay in opening Pegasus mail message

It takes about 5 minutes to open a message in its own window in Pegasus mail v4.21b. I have scanned the PC for virus and spywares, no virus was found. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Pegasus. But the problem still persists. Has anyone encountered this problem and was able to fix it?
