We are trying to deploy MSN Instant Messaging Service Version 2.2 company-wide. Our pc’s are running everything from Win 95 to XP. I’ve run into a road block with the Win 95 pc’s.
First you need to load WinSock 2.0 on the Win 95 pc’s before you can load IM. WinSock loads fine. I can successfully load IM. However, when I go to authenticate my profile in IM, I just keep getting prompted to enter my profile information and eventually I’ll get a message saying this user does not have access to use this account. I’m trying to logon as the user of the pc, which has all applications configured for the user.
I have no problems with IM on pc’s running NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or XP.
Any ideas or suggestions?
