Does SAP support Multi-Server Implementation?

Our organization, an Oil and Gas Industry, is planning to implement SAP as ERP. We plan to have Two Servers on remote sites and one at Head Office, interconnected and live Database update on each as replica.
Our consultantants / vendors have told us that SAP implementation architecture does not support Multiple Servers, i.e. the remote users will have to log-in to the main and Single server in Head Office.
Has anybody experiance of implementing SAP on multiple synchronized servers? Any specific problems in this regard?
