DOS xcopy in win2000

I use a dos XCOPY batch(.bat) file to copy files and folders that works fine in Win98. When I try to run it in Win2000 it gives a quick xcopy splash screen but does nothing else. It’s a handy little program that I write and run in task scheduler which saves a lot of headaches when users inadvertently delete or corrupt their data. Fixes/suggestions anyone???
