Downloading e-mail causes my computer to freeze

Anytime I try to download by e-mails using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook express, my computer in the windows Tasl Manager gives me this reading “Msksrvr.exe is 90% to 97%” in the processes window. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
