E-Mail Wars ???

by dawgit . Updated 20 years, 6 months ago

Both IBM and MicroSoft have today released info on how they are going to help everybody with their e-mail solutions. IBM with their Move2Lotus Program (see: http://news.zdnet.com/2100-3513_22-6055898.html by Martin LaMonica) with rewards for partners (up to $20,000) to move customers to IBM for e-mail service. And MicroSoft is re-inventing hosted service with FrontBridge Technologies (see: http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6055772.html by Joris Evers) as a ‘New’ thing in hosting. Even pushing Secure Instant Messenging. All this with SMB in mind. Excuse me but at pricing like I see from IBM and MicroSoft, the S (small) and most of the M (medium) is not going to go for their B (business). One can do secure messenging with Yahoo, Free.!. And many small business need siplicity, and Yahoo provides that too. (They also have a business program) I don’t think anyone is going to jump ship just because the big Names now want to play.
