email attachment failure

when sending email attachments (even to myself) the image of the “download manager” box is sent, not the image or file. Same thing with right-clicking “insert in mail” choice. This persists despite uninstall/reinstall AOL and Windows, and upgrade toWindows ME. This started after trying to delete suspicious choice in download manager in the instant after selecting and sending a different item. Any ideas? Many thanks. No one else has any idea…Thomas Jolly
