Sometimes I have to write someone a note which will contain a long URL to some page they need/want (e.g., I’m sending an invoice or else technical help, and need to point them somewhere as a reference).
Rather than have them have to see a long confusing URL (because some aren’t techies), I’d like to just write “Click HERE to see what you need to see.” I’d like the “HERE” to be a link which will take them to the right page.
On the recipient end, there’s no real issue with receiving such things, because they’re usually using something like “Outlook” or some other “HTML-friendly” mail reader. But on my end, I’m using “pine” on a Linux or AIX box to create the e-mail. If I just type “Click HERE“, then they see the entire anchor, around the “HERE”, which is even more confusing than just typing the long URL!
Anyone know how to embed URLs when using pine to create the e-mail message?
Thanks!
