Excel problem

Hi Guys,

Can anybody help in solving my Excel Problem ?
I have Excel 2000 Standard running on Win98 Se.
I am unable to open any Excel file from its location or any location displaying “Path not found” error.But the same files can be opened by opening the Excel first and using Open option.This is just happening with Excel 2000 not with Word & Powerpoint.To resolve this issue i have removed entire 0ffice 2000 and installed back again but the problem persists. Now i want to solve the problem without reinstalling windows 98.
Kindly get back to me if anybody has quick solution immediately.
