We have created several templates (.xlt), in Excel 2000 that are utilized throughout our organization. In order to maintain consistentency in font size and style, along with page layout the templates are protected. When the user opens a template it converts to a spreadsheet(.xls), their addition to open cells can be very wordy. The ability to spell check the spreadsheet is not available because of protecting the template. I could create a macro that unprotects the user spreadsheet until they close it, but this will give a user access to change the fonts style, size and form layout.
I am looking for a way to where the user can open the template and add their information to the open cells, without the ability to change the form layout, then be able to spell check their spreadsheet. Currently, once a template/spreadsheet is protected the spell check option is unavailable. Any ideas on a workaround solution?
