Exchange 5.5

How to recover an msexchange personal folder files with an estimate size of more that 2gigabytes when inbox repair tool can’t repair it anymore? I read an article before that when a personal folder reaches that size it is prone to corruption. Was this a limitation of exchange 5.5. How about if your using outlook 2000 at the client what will be the tools to recover it?
