Getting error 9318 in event viewer. Running Exchange 5.5 SP4 on NT 4.0 SP6 environment. Scenario is have three servers – 1 PDC and 2 BDCs (1 BDC is proxy server runnning proxy 2.0). We just recently added this PDC to our network and demoted the previous PDC to a BDC. We still have Exchange running on the BDC and now we have added the PDC to the Exchange site. We are in the process of deleting the first server (now the BDC) from the site and having the new PDC as the only exchange server. Testing this, we took down the BDC and our mail would not come through. When we brought the BDC back online the mail was coming through fine. Somehow I imagine the mail is being filtered from the BDC (1st server) to the new server (where all the mailboxes,stores, and connectors are stored). I don’t know where to go from here. Does it have something to do with host file? I dont wnat to take this server offline until i know the new server is handling it all. thanks- i’m new to exchange, taking it as it comes.
