Exchange defrag problem

Event ID 1221 reports “The database has 1 megabyte of free space after online defragmentation terminated” – How does Exchange allocate space because there is plenty of room on the drive (10gb) – Exchange is only thing running on the drive. Can anyone shed some light on this please?
