Exchange MailBox too many Items?

Hello,

In Exchange Admin it shows the ‘Total Number of Items’ in MailBox Resourses, and they show too many (I think).

One user shows over 28,000 items and I have been to look in thier outlook client and there is no way they have that many?

Can anyone tell me what the number represents and how, if possible to get this number reduced.

The Priv.edb is over 1.3 gb in size, is this normal for 50 users?

I have other issues with exchange as well and think I am going to have to re-install it becuause of connecting problems(acording to the error messages I get).
