I am sure at one point in a dev’s life he faced this menace.
I met with a requirement (for a different team in my company) recently and thought of sharing the same to get more ideas.
The requirement basically is to export reports (which has sub reports) into different format like excel, html, and pdf. The reports has huge amount of data with more than 30 columns and has sub reports too..the team already started working with Crystal Reports way (exporting from crystal report to excel/html etc) only to identify constraints such as data trunctation etc etc.
The only idea that came to my mind was of exporting the data from the view to a dataset and datagrid thereby to format required which kind of working but i am not satisfied.
I would really appreciate if some of you could share your knowledge….and FYI i am pulled in to this project as this already crossed its deadline so i am in deep sea already!!!
