FTP downloads

Over a period of several weeks and at least five different instantances (multiple attempts) I cannot download from Techrepublic FTP site. I have reviewed my Internet Options (Security & Content) but am not sure anymore what the problem is. HTTP downloads from other sites works fine. I may have a general FTP download problem. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
