Getting Work97 files to work in OfficeXP

OK, Here goes, I know I knew how to do this but can’t seem to get it right!! I have a user that has tons of floppydisks file with word97 docuements. Now she Is using a new PC with WinXP and OfficeXP installed. The files when open from the floppy will not open to a readable form. What can I do??? Thanks!!!
