After ten years at one bank I recently left and joined the IT team at a rival bank. One of the first projects that was given to me was to find a Help Desk solution. After literally browsing through hundreds at helpdesk.com I narrowed the list down to about a dozen. In preparation for the due diligence process I came up with a comprehensive list of criteria that we were looking for.
I set about methodically reviewing demos and reading product features, while slowly but surely crossing off theones that didn’t fit the bill. I finally settled on four vendors: TrackIT, Help Trac, SiteHelpDesk and TopTrack.
I downloaded demos for all four and began the task of evaluating the functionality of each. I was struck immediately by SiteHelpDesk’s user-friendliness. It’s very robust and packs all the features I was looking for and then some! It’s totally web-based so we can run it on our Internal web-server. The pricing is based on the number of Help Desk operators/technicians instead of number of users.
