Help! Help!

I’m working on a project at work not sure of two things? Once a record set is written can you
update it? If not whats the best way to write mutiple record to update and session variable to
close a certain record set.
Example: user one starts a job writes his usid in database with start time then user two ends job
writes his usid to same record set?
