How do I reformat an entire document in MSWord?

We get in hundreds of resumes that have to be completely reformatted in MS Word. I have tried using a Macro which resets some of the formatting but unless the document has many of the same features as the one the Macro was created in, it returns an error msg. Many of the resumes that we receive have Macros and special formatting created by people who are programmers using advanced features in MS Word. I have tried many of the features in Word to reset, or release all of the formatting including things like special spacing, margins, headings, bold and all caps, as well as the insertion of page and paragraph breaks.
Is there any simple or even complicated steps in Word which can get rid of all formatting so that it does not have to be done manually one item or paragraph at a time?
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
