I need to insert an Excel 2000 spreadsheet into a Word 2000 document on Windows 2000 -new machines, plenty of space, 256 MG mem, everyone has Word and Excel on the workstation – docs and xls on server. While in Word doc, I select Insert/Object/Excelworkbook. If I do not select to display as an icon, the link is visible when merge fields are visible. Turn off merge fields to view as endusers will, most cases, nothing shows until mouse is moved over a corner where I click and sheet opens. Other cases the link is displayed, right click to open does open the spreadsheet but the spreadsheet will not print when printing the document. This worked fine with Win98.
Users would prefer if the spreadsheet was simply open when the document was opened.
I am creating the spreadsheet by selecting embedding an empty sheet then cut and paste an existing sheet. I have also tried creating an empty sheet and setting up the formulas directly without cutting and pasting.
Is there a way to insert a sheet that opens automatically upon opening the document and prints as part of the whole document?
