I have Microsoft Outlook 2000 in Windows98SE, and use ZoneAlarmPro and PC-cillin for firewarll and virus protection. I use pacbell DSL, and have several email web accounts forwarded to my pacbell email. Something or some program keeps changing my POP3 address from ‘postoffice.pacbell.net’ to ‘local host’. And it takes the real POP3 server designation, and puts it after my user name with a forward slash. This often happens when I reboot my computer, and several times a day, when I’ve done nothing. It’s a real nuisance to have to reset it, close and reopen Microsoft Outlook, etc. Someone suggested that it is the way I have PC-cillin set up – it comes up first at Startup, and runs a constant scan all day long. Does anyone have a solution for me? I’ve tried contacting both virus and firewall servers with no help received, and looking a FAQs, etc., on their sites. It does the same thing to the web email addresses I want to pull messages from. TIA, Temu.
