How to Use Dos backup disks in XP Pro?

I am trying to assist in getting Dos backup info onto a computer running XP Pro.
There a number of Backup floppies which were backed up using Dos 6.22.
How do you unpack these disks, as the program data is needed for my work?
When opening the ‘Command Prompt’ it will read those disk and it says that it contains ‘Default.ful’ Is there a way to make Xp read those diaks? Any Suggestions?
Please help.
