Hyperlink behaviour in Word 2000

I look after several machines with Word 2000 loaded.

On some, when the user types in a web URL in lower case, Word highlights it in blue, underlines it and shows it as a hyperlink. This is OK.

On other machines, Word changes the URL to capitals before it applies the colour and underline – and it’s this behaviour that I want to turn off.

I want the URL to stay in lower case and I cannot find anywhere in Word to turn this automatic behaviour off.

Any help would be appreciated.
