IE 6 accessing Lotus Notes DB

I have a developer who has taken a Notes db which was accessable only by the Notes client and rewrite it for web browser acecss only. Itworks fine under earlier browsers, but in IE 6.0, which I click on a view the view itself does an annoying flash with a black and or grey screen before refreshing.

Has any one experienced this before and have a suggestion or workaround.
