IE 6 search history

Is there a way to clear (or limit) the “search” history in IE 6.x? I regulary use AltaVisa, but this is apparent on all custom search engine entries. I have queried the registry and local files for these entries and none exist, but when I “search” (any engine), I see ALL of my previous text searches.
