IE6 ‘screen tip’ box not showing

hello, ie6 winxp home sp2.

on websites with hyperlinks that show ‘screen tips’ (the little boxes that show link info when you hover the mouse over it) my internet explorer has stopped showing them.

ive tried resetting internet options to default but doesnt work. could it be something in the registry?

any ideas?
thanks
