Import Addresses from o exp 98 to outlook 2000

I have good address book in outlook express 98, need to import into Microsoft Outlook 2000 (9.0.0.2711) import works ok, but feature that doesn’t work is that when you type a persons name in the to: box, program doesn’t pick up address from address book. What part is missing? When I go to outlook, and look in the address book, the addresses are there. autofil portion doesn’t work.
