importing Excel to MS Access

I am trying to import Excel sheet into MS ACCESS.
Excel sheet has multiple columns including Text, Numbers, double. along with some formulae on some columns.
when i import from Excel to Access. it import all columns with text.
so we have to change Text fields with the origicval data we have in that Table .
when i tried to change from Text to number. it just eliminate all number in that like i have columns with ffields like 0.1258541
this column is imported as Text. i changed to number double upto 3 decimal palces. it just eliminate all data in that
