Importing Powerpoint from W2K to XP

I am developing a Powerpoint 2000 slide presentation in Windows 2000 OS. I have a Windows XP notebook that I am going to present it on. When I import them from Win 2K to XP the slides text reformats with all text Underlined, Bold, and Italisized.How do I stop the automatic reformating? Or how do I correct it?
