Information Store

Please help. Yesterday our exchange server 5.5 stopped working due to us reaching the 16gb information file size. I tried to run the eseutil /d /ispriv on it to defrag the database and clear up some space but the program hung around 90%. Now wheni try to run eseutil /p /ispriv it stops repairing damaged tables around the 30% mark. Can anyone point in the right direction to try and sort this out. The only good backup i have is from the 8th.
