Inserting Symbols In Excel Footers

Hello,
I need to insert the copyright symbol in an Excel footer. None of the standard formatting or inserting commands seem to work in the Footer dialogue box. Can anyone out there tell me if this can be done, and how? If it can’t be done, can you suggest an alternative? Thanks.
