Internet Explorer 6 not displaying pages

I have installed IE6 on my machine running XP. I can access pages for 5 – 10 minutes and then no pages can be displayed at all. If i leave the machine for a while i can access pages again for 5 – 10 minutes and then i encounter the same problem.
